Default Need new key

Good morning,

Just trying to put some feelers out, does anyone know of a locksmith that sells and programs key/keyfobs, I need a new one for my 2006 LR3 SE. I really don't want to spend $400-$500 on a new key. Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Where are you located? Do you have an existing key that starts the vehicle?

Yes I do, the only issue I'm having with that key/keyfob is the unlock actuator is sticking. I had it fixed before that's why the button is white but it's starting to fail. Would like to fix this one and get a new key that way I'm not in the same boat again

The best thing you can do for this situation and going forward is buy a GAP IID tool. ($500). Get a cheap aftermarket remote on ebay or amazon and code yourself. The GAP tool will pay for its self in the first year.

What do you think of this one? It says key fob programming?

Any competent locksmith should be able to copy/program your key or make a new one and will come to you. It wouldn't be the same configuration, but it would be a key if necessity is an issue. In my area prices range from 90$-300$

I've contacted at least 10 different locksmiths in Dallas and none program the key, that they can't service that vehicle...

Thats news to me. I was always under the impression that only a Rover dealer can program the key fob. For DIY, the GAP tool. Those were the only options.
