Faults shown upon startup
Well I tried the hard reset and it will not allow me to switch out of low. It acts like it is trying, and the Hi light blinks but it goes right back into Lo.

here are some of the faults for the transmission upon startup. Also, once I cleared the faults I received one new one in the transfer case.

My display on my LR3’s instrument panel also said “slow down, transmission too hot”.

I put the truck in neutral and put my foot on the brake. I then held the toggle switch to the hi position. It sounded like it was searching/going into the hi position, but would return again to the low position.

I was hoping I was doing it right :).


My Brother In Law is coming to town next month. He is back in the states for a little while from doing some work in Uganda. He has a 1970 series Land Rover over there. He is very mechanically inclined, and I will wait until he gets here to open up the transfer case.

In the meantime I will try and do some more preparatory work. I already changed out the rear tailgate hatch door lift struts. I also have the splicing parts to fix the passenger side sun roof drain tube.
