Default Newby Question on '08 SE Rear Differential

Hi All,

First post here, so thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I found an '08 SE with only 36k miles here locally being sold by a private seller and he mentioned having some things done to it recently. Among other things, this one stood out:

"The issue with the rear differential was that since it had so few miles and never taken off road, the lining of the rear differential motor began to deteriorate. So Green Oval Motors flushed, cleaned, and rebuilt the motor. It is working perfectly now. All off road modes work and no warning lights are present."

I've never heard of a rear differential deteriorating due to NOT being used. It's already been fixed, but should I be alarmed that there may be a bigger issue here?

Thanks again,
Mies

Common issue but not from lack of use.If it was repaired and they have paper work....bonus.I would read up on common issues before a test drive.

Good question, Tom. I'm going to see it tomorrow. How would I know if it was the HD model?

Seems guys say it will have a full size spare with matching aluminum rim not the steel rim, there is a plug or motor on the diff

Some say put the off road in rock crawl look for padlock on the pic on the screen, mine has that but we do not think I have locking diff

For looking under, get in close door engine running push forward on left console lever vehicle will rise up and off road height selected will display by speedo

Suspension does not change unless doors closed engine running, compressor only runs with engine running
