Default No 4lo, No Rock climb

Friday, I noticed I couldn't select 4lo or Rock climb on my 2007 LR3 SE V6. My LR3 has only 84,000 km. Immediately I knew I was trouble. I had my oil changed, so I could look under the car, and I saw wet fresh oil just at the rear of the Front differential. I couldn't see anything by the rear, but I'm incompetent.

It's sad, because I had just read a really good thread by one of the members on changing the differential oil, and transmission on his LR3 and had planned on doing it once my roverparts order came in.

Roverparts (aka British Atlantic) doesn't have differentials for sale, or not at least advertised on their website. What will a new front and rear differential (locking) cost me, and what's the labour for each of them?

My local dealer the only one in Ottawa quoted me $1225.75 Rear and $1485.15 Front. When they pulled my VIN they said that I couldn't get the auto-locking diff. Does that sound right? I just called for pricing expecting the worst, I have an aftermarket warranty (3 yrs, 70K kms) but it's more like a discount card that a comprehensive warranty (I'll rant about that another time).

Had the vehicle a year in December, put 36,000 kms in that time, none of it off-road just lots of highways.

Replaced a Terrain switch YUD501590WUX which in Ottawa, ON Canada cost me $392.79 + 168 installed CRAZY.

Oh the good news does stop with that I have repace a Pinion seal, and the Drive seals. Two parts TZB500050, & LRN7591 which together installed with be $828.

What is the Pinion and Drive seals and is this something that is common in 2007 LR3's? Also do 3 hours each some reasonable to replace them?

Same problem, same solution. If you push that button and nothing happens, it's likely the switch. Assembly looks pretty easy, suggest getting a FSM download.
