Default Turning off yellow brake pad permanently

I have a 2006 LR3 and have just replaced brake pads front and rear. I decided to forego difficult job of replacing pad sensors, cut the ends and tied metal portions of wires together. (I am **** enough and keep good records of what I have done.) Light continues to stay on. I even disconnected battery for 10 minutes. If both front and back sensors are tied up, is there something else that needs to be done?
BTW, I also have BMW X5 with same problem!
Thank you

you probably need to put some kind of resistor between the ends - most sensors have a range of acceptable values, zero or one are not acceptable. You may have to experiment to find the right resistor, but I'd look for something that reduces the voltage to (most sensors operate on a zero-5v reading) 3.

the yellow light comes on for more than one reason. are you sure it is the wear sensors that are setting it off?

Default Thank you

Over weekend I'll check other causes for yellow light. It also appears on X5 with same issue
