Hi all,

My 2008 LR3 has rear PDC, but lacks the dash button to turn it off. I use a hitch rack often enough that it would be nice to be able to silence it on command. The owners manual shows the button, but I just have a blank to the left of the hazard switch. Wondering if the silence function was moved for this year? Anyone else seen this situation? I have the GAP IIDtool so I know I could disable PDC entirely.

Edit: Searching a bit, looks like I need p/n YUL501430. Ebay is crawling with p/n YUL500440WUX for cheap (05-07 trucks). Anyone know if it would work in an '08? Cheap enough to try it...

 

And... talking to myself here but I think I figured it out. The button for 2008 would serve to activate front PDC, which my truck doesn't have. I was referencing a spare owners manual from 2005 that I keep inside my house. The manual for 2008 MY (2007 printed) removes all reference to the ability to silence rear PDC. So I'm guessing a new switch panel would send the command to an ECU that would ignore it.

Seems to be a few choices for that switch pack depending on the amount of switches used

 

My MY08 has the switch but US vehicles probably differ a bit to what we get like no diesel variants.
