Default Noisy back end!

Hi,

I get a loud mechanical sounding grating noise from the back end of the car occassionally when I remove the keys! It sounds like a very noisy motor winding up and needing a good lubrication.

Any ideas.

This is the base model with coil spings and no adaptive suspension.

Thanks for the reply,

It is strange that it only makes this noise when you open the drivers door before removing the key from the ignition.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you don.t have air suspension , you propably have no TR system and , but does this exlude Electronic rear locking differential? i don,t now, which model you have , but i can only think of 2 posible noises, when you turn keys or take them out of the ignition and that would be fuel pump, always engaging in when keys in or out ..and lacking diff. MOTOR going thru self check at every start up and shut off and when it is going bad , it squeaks or makes grinding noises , when you take keys out of the ignition...this is what happened to me,, with a rear diff. motor going out...
