Default Northwest Land Rovers

What's the deal with the price of LR3's and land rovers in general in the northwest US? My 99 Disco II that I finally bought back in 2012 was in great condition but probably twice the price as most were talking about on forums. It was the going price in the NW. Now I'm looking for an LR3 and the prices are insane. Most 2006-2008 LR3 with less than 120k miles are asking 17 to 20 grand. I see on forums all the time that thes trucks with less than 100k purchased for half that. Is it just that people from Seattle are stupid or is there something else to be considered?

bought an 06 with 74k for about 13-14 grand, food for thought. This was in Virginia. Private seller, KBB was admittedly something like $17 or $18k with that low mileage.

under 100k miles I could see upwards of $15,000 asking price IF it was single owner with perfect records (no extras, stock vehicle). Otherwise I would lowball everything I saw if they didn't have records, super easy to justify since repair costs are significant. No car dealer or seller can really argue if you're informed and know exactly how much the big ticket stuff costs. Must be your market is inflated a bit.

Try all the car search websites, I think mine was found on some random car guru? listing.

I think there are a great many things that are more expensive here in the PAC NW. Supply 'n demand is a local phenomenon, and yes, in places where people have excess cash they may be willing to spend more money which in turn drives up the market price.

Cars don't rust here. (Or rust less than elsewhere)
I wouldn't feel so bad about it, go check out westfalia prices and then congratulate yourself on the relative bargain that is the lr3

In Bend, Oregon, LRs are sort of the new Subaru. They are very popular... I saw a handful of 3s this past winter the 13-16 range, but not many.

If I lived in Bend, Oregon...I'd get in my Subaru LR3 and drive it to Boneyard Brewing, and have a Hop Venom. ...or two.

In Bend, you've got Outland Motors specializing in LR's and spreading the joy. I got my LR3 from them.

Tks. I'll check them out. I'm guessing you had a possitive experience since you called them out.

I also got mine from Bill at Outland.

And yeah, we do drive them to Boneyard, et al. We just don't get to drive them back home.
