Smile Oil Pump Seal leak

Hey there,
I just found an oil patch underneath my Disco 3 and took the bash plates off to try and find the location of the leak, it appears to be coming from the bottom of the oil pump casing where the seal starts. Not the best time of year to come across this and we are also booked to go away in a month for some off road activity.
Just wondering if anyone has had their Disco 3 serviced for an Oil Pump Seal renewal before or worse, an Oil pump replacement and what this sent them back in funds?
I'm going to try and get a few quotes but really dreading hearing what the price might be after I hand it over to a mechanic and wondered if I could pick up a ball park figure from this site?
I live in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane.
Anyone with comments who has had this done in the last 12 months would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
G.

Sorry, I should have thought to add them in the first email.
Engine specs: -
It's a Discovery 3 TDV6 2006 model.
If there is anyone who can give me an idea of what it cost them to get the leak fixed in my local area of Queensland it would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
G.

I'd bet my left nut its a 2.7 TDV6 as its the most common D3 engine option down here.
Now if your talking the seal between the pump and the block you may as well replace the pump and do the timing belt at the same time, it could also be the crank seal which means pulley and balancer off as well as the timing belt.
I just went thru all this myself recently.

Hello loanrangie,
Thanks for replying (yes your right it is a 2.7 TDV6) Your left nut is safe!
I just spent a motsa on it last November ($8.5k) and that included changing the timing belt, so hopefully they won't need to upset the one installed whilst renewing the Oil Pump?
How much were you charged (if you don't mind me asking) for changing the Oil Pump and or the Crank Seal with labour? This can't have come at a worse time as we are booked to go away in one month.
Regards,
G.

Belt will need to be removed but they can reuse it and fit a new crank bolt, i did it myself just the $500 for parts. I had the tensioner fail so it was worth me strip it down to see if the motor was repairable which luckily for me it was.
What city are you in ?

I'm in Brisbane,
The reason I'm asking people who are local that have had this replaced recently is because the last group that worked on my Disco 3 had the "come in spinner" attitude and the service / repairs cost me a lot more than I was going in to do. I really just want an idea (ball park figure) of what price I'm looking at for a Mechanic to replace the Oil Pump before I just hand over the car.
Cheers,
G.

Well this is a US based forum where they didn't get any diesel engines, jump onto AULRO forum and ask there. Took me about 6hrs so a good shop should do it in 4, i was taking my time to do it correctly.
