Default Ok, trailer lights for real

So I fixed the bad wires and replaced the plug. Still nothing. Dash doesn’t recognize a trailer. Trailer lights are good because they work with other vehicles. Still getting B1C57-14 (2F) among some other odd codes with a slight lag in starting the truck. None of this was happening prior to initially plugging in the lights. Thoughts?

Both. Tail lights are LED and side lights are filament

Then you need resistors so the car detects a trailer and stops the rapid blinking and relays to stop the pulsing..

Sorry, not sure what you mean. Nothing is happening. The lights work fine when I hook up my ford pickup.

Could this error code have something to do with it?B1C57-14 (2F) Passive start ignition relay coil circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open

Code is not related to your trailer, trailer wont be detected due to the LED's so needs resistor to put a load on that can be detected. The LED's will flash fast and oddly due to the vehicle sending pulses down the circuit looking for a trailer.

Thank you. But there are no lights at all, fast blinking or not. Does this still indicate a resister is needed? And how would I go about installing a resister?

tks

Yes you will need them but first you need to work out why they aren't working, most likely a wiring issue on the car since the trailer lights work on another vehicle.

Have you confirmed that there is power at the plug on the car? I don't recall the pinout right now, but on the 4 pin ground should be different that the other 3. From there you can turn on the 4 way flashers and check for power for brake / turn signal and turn on headlights for the marker lights.

Hope this helps

Tks. I’ll take a look at that.
