I need your help. I’ve never owned a Landrover but am looking into getting my first one. I’m not mechanical minded, like literally. Haven’t got a clue. I’ve found a decent enough car on auto trader, but the problem is, there’s really not much information at all.

I’m a dad of three very young children, and need a safe practical car.

Anyone who has the slightest clue what they’re on about able to have a look? It would be greatly appreciated. thanks

You should post over on the disco3.co.uk forum, they will be able to help you more with this model. Few things I noticed:

-HSE with Luxury package, that’s the top line trim. I know it’s very uncommon in the UK, so that’s a plus
-The dealer listed all the available options in their ad, so you have no idea what the car actually has; for example they listed 17”, 18”, and 19” wheels as available. This one has 19” wheels
-MOT due in February, not bad but make sure someone isn’t dumping a pig on you. £7k seems inexpensive for an HSE in the UK
-TDV6 engine, verify the oil pump has been replaced

As much as i love my D3 if i couldn't do all the repairs myself i probably wouldn't own one, workshop repair costs can be exorbitant on these. In the UK you will have a lot more choices of workshops but i still read about a a lot of shoddy work by non LR fluent mechanics. These are old vehicles now and at the age where repairs can/will be major.
