Power dying while driving??!!
Checking to see how common this is. Have an '06 LR3 v6 which has been in the shop for 3 weeks after I repeatedly had the horsepower just drop while driving. The rpm's reved and I couldnt go over 30mph! When i turned off then back on it temporarily went away for about 5 miles but even while it was running "properly" it felt like it was mis-firing when stopped/slowed.
An engineer from LR has been to dealership to see it (doesnt happen often) but they have no clue!
I bought this car w 19k miles (now w 33,000) in Oct. 08 and am not too impressed so far. Great when IT WORKS!! Any help?? Much appreciated.

RE: Power dying while driving??!!
There is a new recall on the v6 models. The catalyst monitoring is out of calibration and the pcm must be reflashed. I haven't seen the ill effects of thisissue, but faulty oxygen sensor readings can cause rough running and lack of power issues. If this recall
has not been performed, then have it done, and go from there.

Well, its ironic that you had this problem. This same thing just happened to me, just as you described it. My engine light came on but was flashing. I took it in and they tested it and said I had a dead cell in my battery so they replaced that. I picked it up and drove it back from Bellevue to Seattle, well, the same thing happened again. I called the dealer back, they towed it in the next day. They then called and said that I had 2 faulty coils which they replaced. Well, that was a week ago and I have had no problems!
I am so glad I have my LR3 back with the winter snow storms we are having here in Seattle. I get around with no problems. The terrain response system on LR's is amazing!!
Sorry to be long winded, but hope this helps.
