Default Rear Brake/Marker Bulbs

I know that it's recommended to get LR bulbs but does anyone know if there is a Ford equivalent? Part number?

Thanx...

I don't know, but I haven't had any problems at all using the long life Philips bulbs available at any auto store.

Good to know... is there a certain bulb designation for these two filament bulbs or are they just labelled as two filament?

I've also used parts store bulbs in both of my LR3. I think the issue is you must use the correct bulb by application, not just whatever fits.

Same here, I have used whatever the auto parts store gave me for make/model I provided. No problems

Default it's a quality control thing re bulbs

The link below has my comments re bulbs. It is really a quality control thing. A bulb sourced from the Mercedes, Volvo, Audi, VW dealer would be OK as perhaps would a brand name bulb from say NAPA.

It is the far east ones to be concerned about as the computers are expecting to see amps and resistances in a given range and that failed filaments will drop downwards and not fall across a second filament.

Look inside thru your red rear plastic tailight lenses and note that the filaments are or should be oriented vertically rather than cross wise. That is not by chance.

idk I've always used the off-brand ones that I get at my local auto parts store and they've been fine. I don't even remember the name on the label. I just make sure that the filaments are oriented correctly when they are installed.

Default not that much off brand

I would say that if the filaments orient correctly, that the bulbs are not that much "off brand".

It seems there is one factory in what was Yugoslavia that makes all the bulbs for the OEM Euro guys. I suspect that the Euro bulbs that do not quite meet OEM standards get private branding, hence some of the private brands found in the chain stores can be OK. It is the far east manufactured bulbs found in the dollar stores that can be the real problem.

I did notice when I picked up a set of Sylvania twin filament, that they only installed one way... they was a long pin and a short pin on the side that could only engage and twist when it was oriented correctly.
