Default Rear Fog Lamp Mystery

Hello all,

I am a new member to Land Rover Forums,

I have a weird problem in my 2006 LR3 V8 SE. I noticed my right rear fog lamp was not working. So, I decided to buy new bulbs and switched them out. After doing so, the lamp still don't not work. I tested the connection with an ohmmeter and cleaned the inside a little bit. Also, the other rear fog light is working so the fuse cannot be burned out. After hours of contemplating this, I am confused and in distress...

And help would be great! I appreciate the responses I recieve!

Thanks,

Bill

It might be worth pulling the tail light assembly off, it's fairly easy, then you can try testing the wires with a multimeter. It appears on the wiring diagram that the RH is fed from the wire leading to the left hand, so it might be worthwhile to try and trace it from the right hand side as a next step.

Thank you for you help!

I have taken the light assemble off and tested the connector point where the bulb is and some of the pins in the main connection between the assembly and the car.. What should I be looking for? When I did it the voltage and amp count was down... Do you think it could be a bad ground somewhere in the vehicle?

It may be a bad ground, more likely, you have lost the power connection. You can confirm that by checking the voltage, and using the metal inside the tail light or on the lift gate ground bolt. I would probably be looking for the point where the two wires are connected. The LR is renowned from what I have seen for poor wire splices.

Alright thank you for your help!

I will look for the power supply and see if it needs to be rewired.

Thanks
