Default Rear right rumble

Hi,

I'm getting a rear right rumble when turning left. This is an intermittent fault, it does not always happen. The terrain does not seem to affect it. It can happen on the flattest of roads and not on a dirt road. Yesterday it lasted for 10 seconds, but it's usually less than 5 seconds.

Recently I have had these replaced.

Replaced Rear Drive Shaft
Replaced Sway bar bushes and links

Thanks in advance, D

Where you just had work done in that area, I would have it looked at again. Don't know if there could have been a mistake when installing the new driveshaft but it's a possibility.

I might be way off with my idea of where the noise is coming from. However, I can now replicate it.

In my apartment building, there is a car park. I can reproduce the noise by bringing the car to a complete stop whilst heading up, releasing the brake, applying a little gas and turning the steering wheel very slightly to the left. Below are two sound clips I did tonight. I placed the iPhone in the back of the truck - tomorrow I will try other locations.

Yesterday after speaking to the shop. They said to drive it on full lock to the left, to try to determine whether it was the front axle/cv joint - there was no noise. I also put a phone under the front of the car - even though I could hear the rumble from inside the car the noise was not on the recording - so I'm thinking it's not from the front. There are two bolts from the skid plate missing, which will be replaced on Monday. Currently, the third-row seats are down, so today I will pop them up and try to see if I still have the noise - I'm sure I will do, but I'm trying to rule out as must as I can.

Currently, the only way to reproduce this is to - have it on an incline, slightly accelerate no more than 5mph and do a very slight left turn - like one inch down on the left side of the steering wheel. You hear the rumble, but can also feel it in the steering wheel. On Monday I'm getting the power steering fluid replaced - doubt that's the problem, but its a very dark colour.

I got the Power steering fluid changed today. I feel like it's got rid of a whining noise from the front end, but the elusive rumble remains. This is a link to a video from the dash cam that captures the noise.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Here's a longer video showing the noise. I cannot repeat this noise whilst driving normally, although it does occasionally happen. it's driving me bonkers.

I had the volume to 100% and couldn't hear anything, have you checked the rear suspension bushes upper and lower ?

@loanrangie thanks for the response. I think you are right it could be the rear bushes. It goes in Monday, so I will provide an update on what they find.

I increased the volume by 400% on this clip

Check your wheel bearings. Easy to do. Get vehicle in air, remove wheels and spin each wheel while listening (stethoscope will help).

I dont hear it, there is this invention called a radio, drownd out all those annoying body creaks lol

Is the jack mounted tight, spare tire tight, crap moving in those rear storage compartments

My bad wheel bearing sounded like the tire was bad and truck pulled, suspension arm bushings are a loud clunk you would know it

Cv is usualy only bad if the boots ripped and lost all lube
