Hi all,
I replaced the rear right height sensor on my 06 LR3 because of a C1A06-92 code.
Install went smooth.
Now the rear right corner is stuck in extended mode on just that corner.
I can't calibrate because it is too far out of spec for the computer to accept.
I am using an iLand from AB.
I tried deflating the entire system and the rear right is still stuck in extended mode.
Now I can't do much else because it just throws codes and I get the red suspension dash light.
leaking air spring? bad rear block? clogged airline?
I'm looking for a way to just lower that one side.
I've owned the truck 5 years and this is the most frustrating problem yet.
Are you sure you installed the correct sensor? Are you sure it is articulated correctly? You could disconnect it and adjust it manually to get the iLand to maybe read it better for calibration? Not sure why iLand would have a problem with calibration thought, it should be able to do it. Thats why I think maybe something else it off.
Double checked that it was the correct part.
black arm
I’m thinking the rear corner block is stuck closed?
truck goes in extended mode and thinks there’s an obstacle.
I’m about ready to manually release the air to the right rear shock just to see what happens.
Also getting the C112F-72 air spring code.
pulled the R7 relay and leaving it overnight to check for leaks.
Is the arm on the sensor pointed the right way? Could be 180 deg out and messing with the system. I'd look at the other side and see which way the arm is pointed, to the front of the vehicle or towards the back. May not hurt to put the old sensor back in and see if you still have the same problem. I know with the BMW headlight level sensors, which look a lot like rover height sensors, it was possible to have the arm pointed the wrong way and the lights would either be pointed into space or about 3 feet in front of the car if that happend.
Thanks for the tips. I'm thinking the air spring and/or the rear block may be stuck closed. ???
No change in leaving it overnight.
I'm going to manually release the air in the shock and see if I can get it close enough to calibrate.
This is how it's currently installed with the arm facing the rear
I put the old height sensor back in, no change.
The best idea a have is the rear air spring is shot. Checked the harness wiring. ???
It's actually worse than when I started! I even let the air out of the right rear shock.
Strange that depressurizing the entire system did not lower the right side which tells me it may be mechanical on top of the computer losing it.
The indie rover shop where I bought the part warned me that the truck will be "pissed off' when I put the new one in.
I'm going to schedule a service at the dealer. I've NEVER been to the dealer. IDK what that's even like.
At least you know what you need...a calibration and possibly a new sensor. Don't let them upsell you and possibly negotiate the labor rate. This shouldn't be difficult or expensive.
I depressurized the air shocks, disconnected the two black lines from the rear valve block, verified the right rear shock was deflated and disconnected the height sensor arm.
All corners dropped to bump stops except the rear right which still is stuck in extended mode.
Does that tell me the shock is bad? Is there any other reason the shock would not lower to the bump stops?
I'm planning on installing a new shock and maybe a new rear block valve just in case.
Seem logical? The scan did originally throw a code for a bad shock.
