Default RPM Fluctuations

I have a 06 LR3 with 51k on the odometer. Today after a filling the gas tank the RPM's will drop to 500 after coming to a full stop and then go back up to 750. This problem does not happen when i put the car in neutral and then come to a full stop. Is this a problem with low transmission fluid, and or a torque converter problem? Any help is appreciated!

I would recommend you clean the carbon from throttle body and plate.

Ditto the above post. Might be the easiest and cheapest fix you ever experience.

Replaced the air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor, and did a through cleaning of the throttle body. Put back together and it runs much better. Picture of the carbon that was removed attached.

I also can attest to this being a fix for the problem. I finally got around to doing this tonight after a month of procrastination and my idle issue getting worse and worse. Not only did cleaning the MAF and throttle body fix the idle issue but now I have noticeably more power. Never ignore maintenance!

Default Throttle body dirty?

I need to do this myself. I've notice the stop and go engine rpm fluctuation. It drops down to 500 than goes to 700. If I stop and go quickly, the engine/truck lurches forward. If I completely stop and wait a second i'm fine. Does this sound like my throttle body is dirty?

Sounds like a good place to start. I never had the bucking forward when coming to a stop, but since this action is maintenace(and easy) anyway, it wont hurt to do it

Default Finally!

Finally cleaned my MAF sensor, throttle bottle(man it was dirty) and I changed my air filter. Truck runs much better, idle doesn't go below 600 rpms when I stop and the engine has much more noticeable pick up. What a easy job and I'm glad I finally did it right before this big blizzard we're suppose to be getting in the NorthEast!
