Default She's wet

Greetings gents,
So after some wicked rain here in FL last night, I noticed a large pool of water on my passenger floor board. I am assuming it's the sunroof drain or the cowl. Not sure where to start diagnosing that.

The other issue is that now my Nav system is saying no Nav installed. The rest of the system is fine, 4x4 screen, etc. I plugged in the trusty Gap Tool and it's showing the message below. Did something likely get fried or is there something I can check and dry out?

Is it saying "no Navi installed"? Or "Navi not fitted"?

Good question. Now I am questioning myself. Pretty sure it is no nav fitted.

Checking the cowl is straight forward... look for any gap between the wind screen and the edge of the cowl. Mine was bowed quite a bit on the passenger side when it happened to me but some black Gorilla tape has done the job and still looks good after a winter of ice and snow. Instead of replacing the cowl, I'm going to run a strip completely across the windscreen to know it is sealed.

To check the sunroof drains, there are threads on here that talk about that. Those that have had that problem will be able to better speak to that than I.

The sunroof drains and/or the cowl is the root cause. The symptoms you are seeing are due (most likely) to wet/corroded wire connections along the passenger side sill. You'll have to pull that kick plate and carpet and dry it out and clean up any corrosion. There are many threads on how to do this.

Is that really the source?

That likely explains why I cant get any power to my Navi unit. Mine says "Navi not fitted" as well.

I've checked all the fuses and those are good. Without pulling a lot of trim pieces off, I cant see very many wires through the glove box opening.

What houm is talking about is not "behind" the glovebox. There's a panel with many wires and junctions behind the passenger kickpanel on the door side of the passenger footwell. This is the one just under the glove box. You probably have to pull up the kickplate (pull straight up), but that kickpanel should come off very easily with just clips (maybe pull towards the middle and back of the car I think?).

You'll see a whole bunch of wire when you get that off. No tools needed, but a clip/trim prying tool is always helpful when removing trim pieces.

Well, I guess it got warm enough today as my Nav was working again when I got home and checked it. I will tear into this weekend. As an aside, took the Porsche today to let the Rover rest and the alarm kept going off for no darn reason. Damn these foreign cars!
