Slight Leak at front of Transfer Case > Prop Shaft - What all should I replace?
Hi All -
I recently changed all the drivetrain fluids with Royal Purple (diffs, transfer case, not yet installed parts for transmission filter conversion). Took the Rover to an off-road park locally, and was very impressed overall with its handling manners (and my first time off roading). I took it through a deeper than expected mud pond, but it powered its way through it. Cleaned it off last night, and now see a slight leak at the front prop shaft to the transfer case.
So before I dive into it, I'd like to get some experienced persons thoughts on the repair. It would seem that I'll need to drop the transfer case to replace at least that seal, but what else should I be replacing while the transfer case is out aside from all the seals on the t-case. And any heads up on any special tools needed? Is only OEM seals recommended or will aftermarket hold up better? All advice welcome, thanks.
