Default some newb questions and intro

Hey all! I just bought an 07 blue LR3 SE with cold climate, heavy duty and technology package, and I absolutely LOVE IT! it's actually the wife's car, and since we just had another little one we needed the third row/space, and with all the extras this truck was just perfect.

anyway, the problem is I bought the car from a dealership in Utah, and I'm in VA. there is no nav dvd in there (nor a owners manual albeit there are ten other manuals for the nav and quick start etc), and being as this is my first truck with a dvd based nav system I'm not sure what to do from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, the button opening the center console is broken. Since the truck only has 22K miles on it, I was told it's still under warranty, and Land Rover should fix the problem for free. Two questions there, how is LR about crossing over warranties, and do you think they will actually cover this? thanks, and can't wait to read through this board!

Welcome! What color interior?

As for the Nav disc, check E bay, junk yards....for the console you might be SOL if they say it's been abused. Worth a shot, all they can do is say no.

the dealer will honor only land rover warrantee until its over and then the aftermarket warrantee picks up the rest. You will have to deal with the crap they throw at you though. And there will be alot. The dealer will make you pay for any rental since you didn't buy from them. Secondly, after the factory warrantee is over you will have to pay for everything the aftermarket companies don't want to pay for.

And make the dealer that sold the car pay for a new nav Disc from Navtech.com

wow . . . you have a rough dealership . . . I bought my 08 in Ventura, and the Encino dealer gives me free loaners when I bring the rig in for service . . .

Wow they charge you for a loaner? I have had two different Rovers serviced at 3 different dealers over the years, I did not purchase either of them at a dealer and they had no warranty, I never once paid for a loaner, not even on a oil change.

its up to the individual dealer. Dealer rental numbers are given out on sales alone. So a dealer that sells less then another dealer will not give assistance because chances are the other dealer stole the sale.

Rentals are always free at my dealer, and when they run out of cars Enterprise is standing there to put you in a car, free as well

If you have a factory warranty thats still good you should have no problems, but if it is an extended warranty purchased by the previous owner hurry and get the dealer to transfer it! You only have 30 days or something like that to do that and then it disappears. That happened to me..but the dealership didn't tell me until a year later. Also I didn't pay for a rental when I took my car in under warranty, but they only covered it up to a certain amount, so you wont necessarily get a comparable car.
