All,

For the past several months, holes, punctures, and tears have been mysteriously appearing in the driver's door panel of my 2006 LR3. The corresponding weatherstripping has been starting to split as well. See attached photo.

I have checked the seat travel, seat belt assembly, and everything else I could think of. There is nothing I can see that would be causing this damage.

Any ideas?

You're kidding ..... aren't you???

Make sure you or whoever else drives the truck makes sure the seat belt is inside and fully retracted before shutting the door, and make sure there are no shopping carts in the doors' way when shutting it...
The door seal.. well... it's worn out

 

Well, my wife is the main driver of this vehicle and she swears she is not doing anything to cause the damage.

I guess this will just have to remain a mystery for now
