I found a small puddle just behind my rear right wheel. I took a look up the fender and found the nipple the oil is coming from. The problem is I am having trouble tracking down what goes to it in the service manual. I was not lucky enough to see a random hose that should attach to it. Hoping someone knows what this is for from my photo. The item next to the nipple is the fuel filler neck. This is a 4.4L hse.
Need a wider view so we can see more of the surrounding area.
There are few things near the fuel filler.
1. The fuel filler/ tank vent,
2. The rear differential vent,
3. The emissions filter/ pump.
4. The drain for the fuel insert to drain off any fuel that spills near the filler tube.
I tend to think rear differential breather pipe, it is the only tube at the filler neck up that high that would be open. But it should not be dripping anything unless somehow the rear diff is way overfilled. But that would be hard to do unless the seals are really worn and it sat in deep water for a while. That is the only way I could think that oil go be carried up and out that far. A drain of the rear diff fluid may not be a bad idea, but start with the filler plug to see if any fluid comes out. If it dump a lot at the filler plug, you have an issue.
my next step is to pay a visit to the nearest scrap yard and see if I can see what should be attached to it. This showed up after my last camping trip. It was a 6ish hour drive through some pretty warm areas and some pretty mild offroading. I'm thinking it is the diff breather line too but as you say it's pretty odd that oil would make it that far up the breather line. I had a chance to pull the spare tire and take a look at the lines coming from the fuel tank and carbon canister. That all looks intact.

Not sure which one this is.
I could be wrong about all of this.

Hope to get some better photos over the weekend. It's pretty crammed in that area. This was the widest shot I could get with my first look. The lowest tube is the splash drain. The object to the right is the air filter for the charcoal canister. I have to assume the evap system is intact since I have no warning lights or stored codes. I know the error system works since I get a notification when the fuel cap is not tight.
I once ran a smoke machine through my evap purge line that goes from the engine compartment to the fuel tank. I was looking for a leak chasing down an evap code. The line was good except for all the smoke was dumping out near the filler neck where there is apparently a tank or canister vent. If your picture is this proper vent, I’m not sure why it would be spitting oil. There should be vacuum on the line when the purge valve is open.
My code was ultimately due to a bad wiring connector at the purge valve, but it took some time to chase it down. I did learn about the vent near the filler neck in the process.
If you find a bunch of oil in your air intake plenum where the purge valve tube connects, maybe that’s your source of the oil. I can’t think of how that can happen though except for maybe a backfire.
