WHERE IS MY PCV VALVE????!!!!!!!!

I have the V6, 4.0L "ford" engine (2006 LR3), but all I see is a PCV hose. No valve. I've been searching for HOURS trying to find where the valve is.

The Workshop Manual looks like this for the 4.0L:

But my engine and the PCV hose looks like this:


There is no "electrical connector." Where the F is my PCV valve???

 

That looks like it in the picture to me. Not sure, but maybe there's a problem with the manual. Where does the hose go to on your car? Should feedback to the intake downstream of the throttle body

 

Yeah, it def. does, I just don't know where the actual "valve" is. Is it in the hose itself? How is it heated then, if at all? Good lord this is super confusing.

 

I'm not familiar with your particular car, but usually I just plugs into one of the rocker covers. I don't know if they're making them heated or not, never heard of that. I just watching a video on YouTube, about 30 seconds long, where someone was doing to TSB on a 20005 LR3 PCV valve. From what I saw in the picture look just like what you showing your picture. You might want to look at that. Rock auto shows a picture of one matching the description of your vehicle with the electrical connector, so I don't know as of yet.

 

Is it possible to read any numbers off of that part? The part I'm referring to is the plastic piece with the yellow paint on top of it in your picture, the one that plugs into the engine. Is there anyway to disconnect that hose towards the bottom of that piece down closer to the I'm assuming is the valve cover?

 

So here's what it looks like with, what I'm assuming, is the PCV hose off:


And then you can look inside, but I don't see anything "valve like," just looks like a piece of plastic. I tried taking this off, but I don't know how, have a suspicion it has to do with those two "clips" on each side:


All in all, this looks as though it's been leaking oil, no?

 

Seems odd to me. So you have a USA spec 2006 LR3? Are you having issues that made you search for this? When you look into the 'valve' you don't see anything at all? Just straight through? Are you the original owner of the vehicle from new? Yes a little oil there but actually looks fine - pretty clean overall. If there should be an electrical connection attached to a PCV valve then you'd think you'd see an unplugged wire somewhere in that area. See any?

 

Issue is rough idle. Throttle body is clean, MAF and air filter are clean. This was next on the list, but I can't find anything that looks like a valve here. Got this LR3 from a dealer, not OG owner. I don't see an electrical connection anywhere.

The PCV hose is FoMoCo Part No.: 5H2E-6758-DA. I've Googled it, can't find it anywhere.

 

So I got this "plug" out of the engine. There's no way this is a "valve," you can see right through it!

 

Honestly, I doubt it's that for rough idle. More likely scenario is a vacuum leak; air entering the intake down stream of the MAF; which ironically is common at PVC elbows. Check vacuum hose connections. Got any codes?
