Suspension Errors, after using GAP IID Tool
Hello Everybody,
Suspension Errors, after using GAP IID Tool
U0416-86 (A7) Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics control module - Bus signal/message failure - signal is invalid
( on 29-01-2020 17:36:23 at 268488 km )
*Test Failed
*Test Failed This Monitoring Cycle
*Pending
*Test Failed Since Last Clear
*MIL Requested
Terrain Response
U0421-94 (27) Invalid data received from ride level control module - Component failure - unexpected operation
( on 29-01-2020 17:35:24 at 268488 km )
*Test Failed
*Test Failed This Monitoring Cycle
*Pending
*Test Failed Since Last Clear
Anyway, at this point I am going to just let the vehicle sit for a while, go to sleep, and I'll check it again in about an hour. Next step, if the error codes remain, is to do a Battery Hard Reset. Next step, check fuses? Maybe I fried something? If that doesn't work, I will start to get worried...
Anybody have any words of wisdom? Any experience with these specific codes?
Thanks in advance, Simon (choosing to stay calm)
Suspension Errors, after using GAP IID Tool
- I decided to use my GAP IIDTool to create some custom height settings today.
- Before I did this, I went through the process, using the tool, to make sure the EAS system was correctly Calibrated - Each corner at the correct height (correct distance from middle of wheel to bottom of plastic wheel arch)
- No issues - The height of each corner was able to be changed up or down, and the settings were able to be saved.
- When I went to the screen to create the custom height settings, I started to have issues - software freeze up, disconnected the tool a few times, turned the vehicle off and back on a few times, and I was never actually able to create a custom height setting.
- Decided to play around with some other stuff - Looked at a bunch of settings and screens, and did make some small setting changes, example, turned off the auto-door lock setting, and turned off the vehicle speed-dependent wiper blade speeds, which seemed to all save correctly.
- So I do not think I messed anything up.
- Certainly did not make any other changes to EAS system.
- But 'something' has caused 2 faults, which has caused the EAS system to be broken... I get one audible 'ding' when turning the Terrain Response ****, and / or adjusting vehicle height up or down, using the normal lever, and the system does not respond.
- Attempting to clear the error codes does not work - The error codes remain.
- Below are the details of the 2 EAS errors -

I think I'll play around again with the Gap Tool tomorrow. Carefully .. Change one thing at a time, test, take good notes, etc.
Even though I've had the tool for almost 2 years, I haven't actually used it that much, beyond reading and clearing codes and programming a new key - Definitely need to explore all of its many capabilities.

What are the values listed? On my software the heights are like 197, 201, 189, 191, etc. They dont reflect real world numbers per say. So its not in millimeters. How much did you change things? Also keep in mind if you adjust the height you will need an alignment.
