Default Suspension Fault C1130-66. Front EAS valve block rebuild kit

Like so many before me, the front EAS valve block is acting up. Settling over the night, compressor coming on occasionally for no reason. After I lifted it to off road height and pulled F26 from the engine compartment fuseblock, I found the truck flat on its nose the next morning.

Here’s the code the truck threw:

Suspension
  • C1130-66 (2E) Air spring air supply - Algorithm based failure - signal has too many transitions/events
Ordered the rebuild kit from BPU Part number RCRVHK for $35. I might have been able to just clean it up but if I take the time to pull it apart, I may as well replace the o rings. I will look for leaks if that doesn’t fix it.

I still have to do my rear block, but its not leaking noticeably. Before you do this, I recommend a compressor dryer rebuild first. Then operate on the new dryer for a at least a week to get some of the particulates out of the lines. Otherwise it will just get contaminated in short order and the block will again leak.

I have a fairly new AMK compressor. Are the dryers serviceable on those....guess I can Google that! On second thought I bought a used one. I’ll look for the white powder.

No clue, but if the dryer part if less than a couple year old there would be no worry at all. I would say maybe around age 5 it can start to become a concern.

Just found an old post of mine, sticker of 11/2012 manufacture date. It’s pretty dry here in Los Angeles. I’ll take a look anyway. Thanks for the tip/reminder.

edit - decided to buy some silica beads on Amazon. Will be here tomorrow! $16.00

I have not tired it, but at least on the Hitachi I think one can pull the dryer without pulling the whole compressor out. Granted pulling the whole thing is not terribly difficult. Not sure with an AMK setup.

The AMK dryer is pretty easily serviceable. There are some videos on Youtube (non-LR specific).

Reviving this thread....what does a "dirty" valve block look like? I ask because I had all the same symptoms as above so I had my block replaced; then I took the old one apart. It looked pretty good...I expected to find a bunch of powderized desiccant but I didn't.

Mine wasn’t very dirty either. No broken down dessicant. I did notice that some of the rubber seats had significant marks from the sharp edges of the valve. It wasn’t the valve, in my case. I did rebuild it anyway due to the valve seats.

@Geo So despite your valve block not being very dirty, did rebuilding it still fix the EAS issue?
