I just took my LR3 HSE (loaded with all available options) into the mountains for the first time. I had no problems with anything until I got above the snow line and hit more than 12" of snow on a 5% grade. Nothing was going to make those wimpy allseasons bite into that wet snow. I know I am going to have to get some real offroad tires and I have 2 questions:

1. Any susgetions on a good choice for proper tires?
2. I will have to go to a larger aspect ratio and there is not much more room for that in the wheelwells. Anyone know of a way to add list to the airbag suspension to allow larger tires?

 

As far as tires and wheels, speak with Charles at www.roveraccessories.com. The company is located in Torrance, CA. Charles is the owner of the company and has a new LR3. He has developed some spacers to run 18 inch wheels which offer more tire choices. He ran 18s in Death Valley (not sure of the tires/size he chose) and was very happy. Saw the video of the LR3 doing its magic on some trails. Was pretty much unstoppable.

 

get some M/T's or more agressive A/T's.
