Default Tires for LR3 V6: 255/60R18 112V

First timer here, usually go on Edmunds. Its about time to replace my original tires, having miles around 30k for my LR3 V6. I tried to go to Costco for Michellen tires, they don't go for size 255/60R18.

Does anyone having V6 this size tires for better price and more reliable?

Any input will be appreciated!!!

Sam

If you plan to seldom, if any, take your LR3 off roading, buy the 265/60/18 Goodyear Silent Armors. If you live for the off roads, then buy the 285/60/18 Cooper Zeon LTZ. Either tire will give you a more comfortable ride, longer tread life, better all around purpose, fill the tire well much better and at least in the case of the silent armor a more quiet ride as well, not to mention cheaper.

I don't go off roads at all. I just drive in town and hwy. The current tires are 255/60R18 but you mentioned in your reply 285/60/18. There is difference in 265 and 285 size, Right? Is it gonna make any difference or void the warranty of the vehilce?

Any other tire comes in size 255/60/18?

If you have no serious intentions of off roading that LR3 (you have no idea how much fun you're missing [sm=shades.gif]) then I would seriously recommend the 265/60/18 Silent Armors. They will not cancel any warranty, will look like they fit the LR3 a lot better than the factory size, the little extra side wall translates into a more comfortable ride, the Kevlar layer built into it means more reliablilty against cuts and punctures, the tread design will give you better traction in EVERY surface than the factory useless tires including snow and ice, it will ride a lot more quiet that the Wrangler HP's, will last a lot longer and give you a 50k mile warranty for a little extra peace of mind. I like the Cooper Zeons also and will probablygive them a shotfor my next set but you will probably find them a little big for the truck. If you don't off road, then you would not appreciate the Zeons. I use the Silent Armors myself right now and swear by them. 30k on the dash and still have about 50% tread left on mine.

Do any other tires come in 255/60/18? Probably. I'm almost sure they do but thefact is that the factory size is just too small for the LR3. It makes it look funny with such small tires on it. The lower profile of the 255s gives it a much harsher ride. Some people would even argue that the 265 is STILL too small for the LR3, that it needs 285and I may even be willing to agree to some extent since I do off roadmine often. But since you don't, 265 will give you the look and the ride quality you are looking for. Do yourself a favor and buy a tire size that works WITH the R3, not against it!

Thanks Jantiz!
My next question will be where can I get these 265/60/18 Silent Armors. Do I need to order online or any tire store carry these tires? Maybe I should google search it.

Thanks in advance!!

The Wrangler Silent Armors are great, but if you have absolutely no intention of going off road (a real waste of the vehicle not to) then you might want to check out the Continental CrossContact LX.

You can find a great deal of info (and prices) at Tire Rack or Discount Tire.

Check out Discount Tire Direct. It's the on-line version of Discount Tire. I found them to have the best prices and best warranty. 30 day no questions asked return policy. I have returned tires to them before. They mean what they say. Gotto love that.

Has anyone tried Falken tires? The size i'm looking 265/60R18 is $96/each.
My current tires 255/60R18 has 112V, what is 112V means? Falken says 110H. Whan t is the difference betwen 112V and 110H?
