Default Too much technology for an idiot like me

I sure hope someone can help me...

I just purchased a 2005 lr3 hse and the owner didn't have the owners manual or the navigation dvd. Maybe it was a mistake and I spent too much money but I went to navteq and paid $240 for a new nav disc and figured I could figure it out without a manual.I tried to put the disc in the cd player but it got rejected. What do I do?

Also, since I don't have an owners manual I'm having trouble figuring out some of the electronics. Is there someplace I can buy a manual?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the car but I'd like to know how to take advantage of everything it has to offer.

Oh yea! Call me crazy, but I can't find a switch anywhere in the car that will unlock the passenger doors. Seems very odd to me.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Charlie

I'm not sure if I understand what you did, but if you put the nav dvd in the CD player, it would spit it out. The navigation DVD player is below the drivers seat and requires (if I remember correctly) that you slide your seat all the way forward, and then from the backseat, reach under and insert the DVD. You will find an eject button on the front face (towards the engine compartment).

seat foward... go in from the front, if it doesnt go in, get a flashlight, might want that to start with, but theres a switch, lock/unloc, make sure its unlockd... put in the disc and then lock it after the disc goes in

You can get any documentation you need at the following link:

http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/e...prod/index.jsp

You can save the documentation as a pdf.

Well, I'd just like to thank everyone for the wonderful advice. The videos on the LR website were terrific, and very helpful. Also, I never would have guessed that the nav was under the seat. Everything is going great, took it to my local dealer today for a check up and service which was all under warranty. They were great to deal with. Also, out of nowhere all of the owners manuals showed up in the mail because the previous owner found where he had stashed them.

Thanks again, in this day in age it is nice to know there are thoughtful people that are willing to take time to help.

Great site
