Transfer Case ECU ??

Transfer Case ECU ??
I need to replace my TCCM. Does it have to be the same part number or can you use a different part number. They all look the same. Mine is a NNW502932. I see 7H42-7H417-AC, NNW505090, etc.. Want to make sure I look for the right one.
Also, I know if I purchase a brand new one it has to be programmed. Is that something you can do with the GAP tool? I think I read a used one you can just swap them out, but is there any update you have to do to it so it works?

Well I ordered the same model/part number from my original one, got a replacement off ebay for $120. Came in today. Swapped it out and everything is now working. I had special programs off and unavailable, transmission fault. The terrain management **** would not light up and transfer case would not go into low. Also had no sport mode. Talked to the guys at GAP, they advised if I was buying a brand new TCCM that I would need to flash the ecu to sync it up with my vehicle. If I bought a used one I may or may not need to flash the ecu depending on the software version.
Everything is working right now, but I’m gonna shoot my ecu info over to GAP and see what they recommend. They also said I’d need to do a calibration with either, all easily done with the IIDTool.

Thx, figured I’d update my post. A lot of people don’t update their posts after they find a fix. It’s irritating to search for an issue only to find nobody posted a solution to their fix. This forum has been a great help to me since 2007 when I bought my first LR. Just trying to do my part.

Update: Sent an email to GAP this morning, they replied within a few minutes.
"If it works, leave it alone even if it came from another car. You have to calibrate it thought, Menu--Calibration-TCCM, proceed with both items. It may require more than one iteration."
Just went and ran through both items in the menu, calibration and sensor something. A bunch of clicking from the transfer case motor and moving the selector to hi and to low and all is well. Gotta tell you, GAP Diagnostics staff are great.

I ordered a used one off eBay. Figured $120 was better than $300. I pulled my original out and it didn’t have any corrosion, pins looked good, so I don’t know what happened to it, but it was bad. Drives like new now.
