Default transmission dash code E

Good morning. I am trying to get this RRS up and running, started when I got it home a couple of months ago. Got the chewed wired fixed and now am trying to get her on the running and back on the road. I will go after the codes one at a time. The Dash gear indicator shows E. The info window on the dash also shows transmission fault limited gears. Anyone know what that is? I have searched but can't find anything. Thanks Phil

is all the wiring plugged in?

need to know all the faults and if theres codescould help narrow it down

check all this, i am not joking

brake light switch( seems to be this most of the time from my reading)
wrong brake light bulbs( yes seriously)
blown fuse under hood f30
corrosion on shifter connector in console
corrision at bulk connector at rear of frame
corrosion at splice on pass side sill in that main harness think its a red wire just as it curves up to the dash
corrosion at plug for transfer case ecu, its a black box behind the battery with 2 rubber tubes coming out the top

it is throwing the following codes and faults, by the way, the hard reset didn't work.....

p0102
p0198
u0101
p0113
p0500
p0071

on the dash it scrolls through the following warnings:
engine system fault
reduced engine performance
reset height adjustment if clear of obstacle (the air lines to both front shocks are not connected)

I am not getting the transmission fault any longer, but I do have an E on the dash where the gear selection would normally be. I did find one more chewed wire in the center console area, it is a red wire that goes to the corner of the parking brake plug, (the brake will engage but will not electronically release). I also found a cut red wire and cut black wire behind the battery down below the wire bundles but they were not part of any bundle, problem is I can't find the other ends of the wires. They do look rat-cut rather than cut at the factory. I will pull the battery on our LR3 and try to figure out what the heck they go to.

not to derail the thread, Tom in your adventures where where the locations the critters made entry into the cabin, the cabin air filter area only?

I don't know if your questions was for me or Tom. in my case, it appears that the freeloaders came in through the fresh air vent, sneaky little critters. After they got in, the nested in the center console, under the suspension adjustment and cup holders, all over the dash, well, mainly behind the dash, in the lower glove box, in the cutouts into the fenders on either footwell area, in the rear, under the panel between the tool compartment and the rear seats, surprisingly, not much under the seats. They crawled, peed and pooped in every nook and cranny behind the dash face panels, everywhere. One was under the wheel well shield on the driver's side, how it died there I have no idea. They hung out behind the battery, in and around the transfer case control module (I think that is what it is. I found two cut wires there, a red and a black. They were on their own, down below a two wire plug to between the TCCM and the bundle of wires that goes through the firewall and into the compartment fuse panel. I may need to dig into our LR3 to see what those wires go to. Could not find the ends that they were connected to. Phil

here is a shot of my dash. I know that a few of the items and codes are things that I have yet to complete, steering wheel air bag, oil temp sensor plug, wires pulled out, need to reattach, maf is removed right now. Park brake is concerning, I can hear it lock, it just won't electronically release. Front air shock lines need to be reattached, hope that is all that the suspension needs. Double checking all of the wiring again tomorrow. phil

The monster nest was in the hvac on top of the cabin filter, took off the plastic cowel and saw the nest with the hvac recirculation flap open, it appeared to be made from all the insulation cloth glued to the top of the kick panels, I have had a lot of the dash open and console luckily I have not found chewed wires yet, car sat a long time

I do have an ant infestation though that I can't locate the source, very annoying

I also had chewed eggcorns under hood and some rattling in the hood I cannot remove

Now in older cars I usually fine rodent nests in/under seats and in headliners, only takes a hole large enough for their head to squeeze through

Well once everything is plugged in and rewired go through the list i posted, this vehicle hates low voltage, things unplugged and corroded connectors

Since your interior's out I would also go check every splice covered in blue tape, they suck too
In pass front door on the floor, that main harness

the black and red wires to the side of the TCCM actually go to a small fan that must cool the TCCM. The rodents bite the wires off. The are hard wired into a connecter that has a plug on the opposite side. One more cut wire fixed! Just hope that the rain holds off tomorrow so that I can get some work down, tough living here in Paradise! Thanks for all of your help. Phil

Well, found one more former hangout for the rats, the TCCM , seems that the rodents sat on or around the TCCM and surrounding areas. I pulled the battery bottom, pulled out the box around the TCCM and seperated out the wire looms checking for chew wires, vacuum up turds and to scrub down with simple green and natures miracle, dang rats, their pee just wreaks. The wires look good, although I can see an O2 sensor that has chewed wires, dang, I will have to add that to the list. I will really have to give this thing a once over and check for cut wires, no ryme or reason to the chewed wires. Before reconnecting, is there a way to test the TCCM to make sure that it is working properly?

the connections all look pretty good, no obvious corrosion or loose connections. just the two chewed wires on the small electronic fan in the TCCM box. Anything special to do to eliminate corrosion between any of the connectors? I was thinking of using electronic spray. Any thoughts.
