Default Used LR3 Questions

In my search for an LR3, I’ve come across a couple questions I’m hoping you all can help me with.

First, it’s difficult to find examples with a dash that is not cracked on the passenger side. Is this some I should I just let this go since it’s a veritable certainty that it will eventually crack anyway?

Second, I’m coming across high mileage examples (200-250k) that have had a lot of work already done in them. Of course they are relatively inexpensive. Is there any reason to think these rigs won’t run over 300k without catastrophic failures? I know the 4.4 has a good reputation.

tks!

Default Say no to crack!

There are plenty of dashes sans cracking and if you protect it they won't invariably crack.

I have read about the 4.4 doing over 300k...probably in this message board. It's certainly achievable.

I have an 05 with 228k miles on it now. Still runs like it was new other than the minor issues that seem to come from an older vehicle. Stay on top of your maintenance. I plan on driving mine until the wheels fall off. I think it’ll go well past 300k miles.

Stay on top of your maintenance and the wheels should stay on.

Not in the Salt Belt they won't, lol. Those UK people have it just as bad, as a video I saw was of a UK resident trying to take the break calipers off their LR3 and it was just a rust caked mess in the wheel well.
