Default Valve blocks

Front and rear look the same. Different part numbers though. Are they the same and interchangeable? Experience says no ….

They are 100% without any doubt NOT interchangeable in any way. This is even covered in the workshop manual. So your hunch was right.

It's odd when looking OEM - they interchange the part numbers RVH000055/RVH000095 as compatible. Talk about confusing.

55 is rear 95 is front.

"The front and rear axle valve blocks are similar in their design and construction and control the air supply and distribution to the front or rear pairs of air spring damper modules respectively. The difference between the two valves is the connections from the valve block to the left and right hand air spring damper modules and the valve size. It is important that the correct valve block is fitted to the correct axle. Fitting the incorrect valve block will not stop the air suspension system from functioning but will result in slow raise and lower times and uneven raising and lowering between the front and rear axles."

Not mentioned, but to add to above. The issue is if the raise or lower time is off enough the computer faults because it feels something is not right. Thats generally when people learn they are not interchangeable.

Advice taken. Ordered the correct one last night. Let’s hope it fixes the drop. Will report back.

The other issue is that the valve controls are reversed. So the valve on the front block that controls the right side actually controls the left strut on the back axle block. So if you have the slightest issue, the computer freaks out and puts you on bump stops. GAP is helpless in this scenario (my experience).

Also buy genuine or rebuild an old one, the knockoffs don’t have functional cross linking and the valves seize quickly because the internals are made of cheap zinc plated steel or maybe aluminum.

There is a third valve block mounted on the frame just ahead of the compressor. This controls flow into and out of the reservoir tank.
