Ok so far I have confirmed it is like I thought. When lifting it DOES change the camber.. so you just need a alignment or only lift the truck when your offroad [taking about the lift sensor mod]

So what IFS doesn;t change camber Id like to know.

Damn you spence for starting this thread. I was looking to get a Disco-2 (prob an '04) in the spring/summer next year, but now I might have to see if I can find an LR3 in my price range. But I would still off-road it

It's where the body and chassis are stamped out of sheetmetal, and formed(welded) into one piece. They are not as strong or ridgid.

I read somewhere that the LR3 uses a unibody and full frame. But I do not know if that is true.

A "uni-body" is a frame that is built into the cars body.
So the body of the car is its own support and you bolt the suspension and engine to it.
This makes a car both light and strong and provides built in crumple zones for accident survivability.

And of course I cant find any good pics of one.

Our trucks have a body on frame design, meaning the fame is a set of 2 rails that run front to rear and then "ladders" that hold the 2 halfs together.
You bolt the engine to the frame and then bolt the body onto the frame.

Body on frame is old school, rides rough and is noisy, uni body is quieter, cheaper and smoother riding because the body panels dont flex, body mounts dont wear out either.

Uni-body is more rigid in body flex but not as strong in a frontal collision for example.
You would not want to mount a winch to a uni-body car.

Yes, they made the body out of a uni-body but then bolted that to a ladder frame.
Best of both worlds.

well I heard alot of stories about jeep Cherokee when flexxing offroad you cannot open doors or the rear hatch opens by its self.. Which seems like it flexes more.

It depends on how rigid they make the frame, my Montero was unibody and I could have one wheel off the ground and still open the door no problem.

And doing more research to help explain it better I found out that apparently unlike what I was told before body on frame is more rigid than unibody and tends to ride better if set up properly.
