Default Water dripping from the glovebox

Hello all,

Recently bought an lr3 and it decided to rain last night. California rain so it wasn't even much. However, as I dreaded throughout the night I awoke to water in the cabin. I think I was able to diagnose the water on the passenger side, after removing the air cabin filter I saw water in it. So I knew it couldn't have been the drain from the sunroof. Sure enough my cowling was old and warped. I have pictures of my diagnosis as well. What do you guys think?

Also, when I first got the vehicle. I cleaned the hell out of the glass on top and sunroof. It had hard water spots. After cleaning it I moved the vehicle. After stopping water poured out from the top of the headliner where the windshield meets the headliner in front of the driver sun visor. So, I poured water in the draining holes to see if they were plugged and damaged and it all came out on the ground. And today there was no water there either, so I'm stumped. Do you think I could have pushed the drainage holes past thier capacity that day?

Drips I first noticed.

Had water pooled inside.

There was water dripping from the side of the filter housing onto that wiring harness in the back.

Warped cowiling. Any advise on how to properly seal it after buying a new one?

Definitely a warped cowl issue.. replace cowl, add a shield on the pollen filter intake, and while your at it, try to clear out sunroof drain tubes by blowing air on it or snaking it with trimmer line

Im 50/50 too since I dont have a workshop to fashion something nice. However, I think I'll probably cobble something together out of some thin aluminum. While I wait on the part to get here. Its probably going to look terrible but better than nothing. I plan on taking this thing camping and 4 wheeling. The last thing I need is water messing up somthing while I'm in the boondocks.

I just moved to San Jose from Southern California. What about you?

Oh nice! We're basically neighbors. Oh thats a good idea im going to check that out. There was a post on here where someone made a nice shield and got bolts with rubber washers for a water tight seal. Might copy his design. I order mine today from fcp as well.

Do you happen to know of any good camping or 4 wheeling spots in the area? I'm completely clueless on where to go. The internet doesnt show much and I recently found out yosemite doesn't allow 4x4 fun in the state park .

I feel you on the parking. Moved into an apt here and its hell trying to find a good spot. How long have you owned your lr3 for?

So far I’ve replaced the air suspension compressor (i believe i opted for the Arnott one), 2 front suspension bags, alternator, front sunroof drain, and soon the cowl.. will be doing the front brakes (pads and rotors) soon.. and a long overdue oil change…
