Also when I read the fault codes with my i930 scan tool this one keeps coming back: "Lost communication with ECU"..check connection..:
is this plug related to the faulty code at all? if not what exactly do I need to check to fix this fault ??

Thanks

It should not be connected to anything, it is the factory wiring harness to add a trailer brake controller.

As to the fault, it all depends on what ECU cannot communicate with which other ECU. These faults aren't that uncommon to have, so as long as everything is functioning correctly, don't worry about it too much.

Default Would you believe a Ford plug?

For what it is worth, an adapter part number is Tekonsha 3035-P from the "Ford" plug to a Tekonsha brake controller.
