I've been doing some reading around and can't seem to get a clear answer on what coolant to use for the 2005 4.4 se lr3. I bought a bottle of
Pentofrost SF (very similar specs to the LR Chevron Texaco Havoline XLC) which I think should work fine but I want to get a second opinion on it. Its is a ethylene glycol-based coolant that is nitrite, amine, phosphate, and silicate free. Seems pretty close to the recommended stuff. What does everyone else use?

 

Eighteen use Genuine fluid or Dex Cool Zerex. This is what my LR dealer sells in case they run out of Genuine.

 

I use Prestone 50/50 premixed Dexcool (GM spec Dexcool)

I also have the XLC stuff marked Land Rover that the dealer sells. Needs to be mixed however. I would recommend getting the dealer stuff and mixing it. Both I like but if I HAD to choose I might go with the LR stuff since it is made exactly for the vehicle. Prestone is however easy to find at auto places if you're constantly topping off or flushing, and easy since you can get it 50/50 premixed.

At least use something that's DexCool.
