I installed an electric brake controller with using the Ford plug. Now I just need to borrow my buddy's trailer and put the defender on it to see how well an LR3 can tow it. If it works well, maybe I'll start going to some more rover events soon!

Well, I just got my first LR3 and while I'm waiting to get it registered I went ahead and changed the transfer case fluid, changed the rear diff fluid, installed some all-weather mats, changed the air filter, changed the pollen filter, and (though this has been over a few days) polished, waxed, and used Gtechniq C4 to restore the black plastic trim (seems to work very well BTW, but time will tell how it holds up). I've been busy, though nothing too serious yet.

I dropped mine off to have both front lower arms replaced and an alignment. I was going to attempt the replacement myself, but I've been so busy at work lately I figured I'd just pay someone.

At least they let me bring my own parts.

Any pics of the plastic trim?

I'll try to post some later, but I don't know how much good it will do since I have no "before pictures" IMHO, I think it darkened the trim a bit more than I expected (a good thing!), but probably not as much as Back to Black or a product like that. However, it seems that the C4 creates almost what I would call a hard shell on your plastic trim. It doesn't change the appearance, but you can feel a slight difference. Also, water just beads right off now, like it was recently waxed.

I recently had to replace all of the front control arms and tie rod ends on my '03 Audi A4. It was a fairly intensive process and getting the passenger side upper control arms out of the knuckle was a real PITA. Because of this, I thought it would be fairly simple to replace the shock boot on my LR3 today, but I had a really really hard time getting the shock compressed in order to get the lower bolt back in. Ugh.

I will say this about the LR3 vs. the Audi... It seems that the LR3 is a bit simpler and a bit easier to work on because there's so much more space. HOWEVER, the big downside is that every LR3 part is twice as big and twice as heavy as my Audi parts. It wears me out in no time.

Put a 90 behind it and drove at highway speeds.

Got a little bit more sway than I'd like.

My new LR3 drove me from California to Colorado. It was the most comfortable ride I have ever had on that journey. But during the ride I had 3 different warning lights/messages come up so it had me nervous the whole way. Sure was comfy though!
