I've LR3 with TDV6 2.7 engine. This is the EGR Valve what I sad the latest post.
EGR Valve

The guy who would like to sell them, told me that I should change both of valves. I know why he told me that, but I just want to know, Is it a big problem, if I change just the faulty one?

Default LR3 with a diesel?

A D3 with a diesel is very common and with the petrol V8 is not unknown - quite a few of them in the EU and Australia, but an LR3 with a diesel in I assume the USA is pretty rare.

I am not certain that many on this forum will have any info related to the diesel. You might have to ask on disco3 or the Australian forum.

Default EGR blanking kit?

Now I am more puzzled.

Most guys with the diesel when they have trouble with the EGR valve, remove both of them and install per the link below, an Exhaust Gas Blanking kit on both sides. I think it takes a bit of adjustment to the computers as well but there are lots of threads on disco3 re installation of the kit - and is sure is cheap.

Re your link to the EGR valve, the passenger side on a UK RHD 3 is not on the same side as the passenger side in a USA LHD LR3.

So today i changed the oil for the second time since we have had the LR3. I used some tire ramps this time. Gave me great access. I got a bigger catch basin for the oil from the drain hole, it only takes one time to learn that lesson. 8 quarts comes streaming out horizonally and will over shoot a normal oil pan. I also put some cardboard down to reduce driveway stains. It was a breeze. I also took the time to do some paint correction on the roof and polished out the headlights. She is looking good, running well and is overall a joy to drive. Just wish I had somewhere to take it offroad. Not too many options here in San Diego, plus it was near 90 degrees here today, of did I mention that I started the day with a surf session, eat your hearts out all of you that are not in San Diego! All the best. Phil

Color matched front bumer, rear tailgate trim pieces, and fender flares.
Rebadged with chrome Discovery, black LR badge, and HSE LUX badge.
Chrome led mirror covers.
Chrome door handles.
Blacked out hood with plasti coat (had some) to see if i like it before ordering the decal.
Refinished rims and added black LR caps.
Re dyed leather seats

Cleanded MAF, Throttle body, flushed injectors and rail with OTC kit..(awesome results!!!)
Changed spark plugs, changed oil, diff fluid (B*!$H of a job) Detailed (steamed engine bay), replaced cheap plastic relief valve (dry rot) and other misc stuff.

Only thing left on my list is to color sand, polish, seal and wax. And polish headlights (forgot to do it...hahaha!! Wish i could find my before pics, but it was just a stock 05 HSE with a brush bar and lights.

Default Relief valve?

What is the relief valve?

I have not heard of that term used previously.

After this little "swim" killed my alternator last week. I finally got it fixed. $300 denso alternator, $177 installed at the indie shop. Stealership quoted my wife $600 for install. I should have replaced the belts and tensioner too, but at that price I can have them do each one on separate occasions and still be cheaper than the LR dealer.

I would give the chaps at BAS Performance Remaps. Landrover tuning at its best! a call, or stop by. This is their specialty.

Default Exercise the demons

I was quite busy this weekend.
She came with an entertainment system but I doubt it is stock. The power doesn't work on the TV's or DVD player. In an effort to find out why they don't work I followed the wires to find a non factory splice which scares me.
I tried to see which fuse the wire is connected to, but could not see. The loom looks like it goes to the bonnet box but I did not see any blown fuses there.
I did find the cooler box fuse to be blown so I replaced that with a spare behind the glove box.

Took the opportunity to clean the fuzz off the middle console and see if fooling around with the EPB lever could cure the fault. No fuse problem. So I think I want to try replacing the lever first.

While chasing the wires for the entertainment center, I found water in the passenger footwell so I removed the side vent and followed the line from the sunroof. I also removed the inside A pillar and cleaned those along with some fabric spray to reattach the material as it was sloughing off.

Drains were unclogged and I need to dry out floor sections. Could the water be coming back to front as I didn't have a chance to chase the rear drains?

I think the passenger side was blocked by the foam pad tucked behind the rubber piece behind the engine vent. Thing was a nub.

Default Air conditioner / heater drains can be disconnected

The link below contains a number of files related to the HVAC system.

There are files specifically related to the two drains off the heater box that either deposits water from the AC or the rain water from the cowl onto the ground below your 3 or if one is disconnected, under the carpet on either the left or right side or both, of the transmission tunnel.

In other words, if the carpet is soaked under the gas pedal, that is the left side HVAC drain disconnected. This is not uncommon and the fix is relatively easy, just push the drain hose back on to the heater box nipple.

The front drains are all I ever hear about being plugged. I am not certain that there are any rear sunroof drains.

All those fuses blown are most likely for a reason. I am not certain that I would just be putting new ones in without further investigation.
