Default The Whipsaw Trail...

Has anyone done the Whipsaw, in BC?

I'm doing so later this summer and would love to get tips and general info from anyone that has completed it, particularly in an LR3.

Thanks!

My club, the Roverlanders of BC, spent 2 days on it a few weeks ago. We went north to south, ending at Hwy 3. Pretty rough. Dont go by yourself. We have photos on our FB page and in our photo gallery on our website. Makes for a good adventure.

Do you mean pretty rough in general or the trail is in rough shape this time of year? How were the mosquitos?

I am going in a fairly large group. My understanding is that pretty much every obstacle has a bypass and I don't plan on doing anything not in my comfort zone. Thank you for the feedback!

Ugh...I didn't add the FB app to my most recent phone, and don't remember my login info. I'll keep trying....

There are some Rocky climbs. No one needed winching but it can be tippy if on the wrong line. Quite a few puddles. Don't drive through the big one at the south end. Not every rough place has a bypass.

Thanks...were there any LR3s in your group? I presume you drive an LR3, but you may have something else, so worth asking. Any stock LR3s?

Four LR3's and one LR4. Mostly pretty stock, maybe 2 inch lifts.

Oh, there were a lot of issues including a hydrolocked engine in that big puddle I suggest you don't drive through. I think all the LR3s made it through without any damage. A new Defender had a flat. An old D110 bent his track rod twice and needed removal and repair. Couple people briefly stuck. All in all, quite an adventure.

Okay, thanks...yeah, I am not a big fan of driving through puddles anyway, so if I have to, I'll stay near the perimeter. Good deal on the LR3s....do you if any of them were HD (rear locker) or not? Stock skid plates? Tire sizes? I did see the photos and videos - thanks for the pointer to those - and that was helpful.

...hey which one were you !?!?!
