Default Who all has this tire!?

hi i was wondering who all has the general grabber at2 tires, and was wondering what they thought of it, like quietness on road, snow and ice traction and tread life... and also if some one could recommend me tires that excel in those qualities it would b much appreciated!!! also i have these weird 18' rims, they r 255/55/18... idk if thats standard or not, its on my lr3 hse 2006

Your hse should have 19"rims unless someone put 18s on it.
alot of guys like the GY Silent Armor it is a snow rated AT tire they go with a 260 65 18 I think

Default Tirerack ratings and comments

Check out tire rack's ratings and comments.

I have the GY SA's and they are extremely quiet, provided a better look than the OEM and have been good on what we get for ice/snow here- southeast VA (but that isn't much compared to other locales). I haven't measured but they are holding up well and an estimated 4 year lifespan (13-14,000/yr).

Tibet I am going through the same thing you are. To get the GY SA's you just have to go to a 265/60 18. No rubbing from what I have been told. People do like the grabbers.

I am still debating on what to do myself.

No you do not. You can run those on the stock 18in rims on the lr3. You can go up to a 285 on the 18in rim.

I like my general grabber at2 tires. This will be there first winter so I don't know about the snow. On road the drive fine, maybe a little nosier than I expected, but work better off road than I expected.

My family is in the goodyear tire business so obviously i have the goodyear wrangler silent armor. This tire is whisper quiet with speed has a perfect rating from goodyear on snow traction and is a has a very capable tread pattern. If you do heavy mudding i would not use it. I would recommend this tire over your general grabber mainly because of quality purposes. You drive an automobile, give it some great shoes
