Windshiled A-pillar exterior Trim piece blows off
Hello all;
2008 LR3 owner here.
It's been my daily for years.
I've recently replaced my exterior A-pillar trim pieces bc the weather stripping had deteriorated away.
Ordered the trim pieces -- they are legit OEM LR pieces.
Passenger side (right side) snug as a bug, fit like a charm, sealed, all's good.
It's the driver side (left side) that's the issue.
It's also worth noting, but sides of A-pillar body work underneath the trim (the metal) has two (2) rubber seal jobs on each side--one up top, one down at bottom of windshield--no paperwork/history on where these came from. Local LR specialist says these were a TSB from years ago and performed by a dealership at some point?? (feel free to verify or correct me on this)
Anyway.
The driver side trimpiece wont stay snug. In fact, it blew off going 70 down the interstate this morning with my family in the car. Really made my day.
I can do brake jobs, engine rebuilds, and some sturdy levels of work on my own truck. But this exterior Trim piece is the death of me.
Am I to live with this piece driving me mad daily? Or is there a legit fix to resolve it. I'm not using duct tape, nor some bodge job with industrial sealant/adhesive. I can barely touch the trim piece w/ fingertips when truck is parked, and it falls off now.
Please help.
