Hey roverguy whats the chances that boosting a vehicle with a screwed battery may have taken out my control module? That is the code that I get at this point.

Electricity does funny things sometimes, especially when talking about voltage spikes, but I don't see how it takes out one particular ECU and leave all else alone.

What code are you getting?

Control Module

Had other that cleared and stayed away but all relating to control. Assume that if I tried to do anything that they would return. Makes the most sense to me something has gone in it.

Did it give you a dash and two numbers after that code by chance?

That fault is not a ECU failure fault, it is that the ECU is either not calibrated or is in production/transport mode. It reverting back to that, or losing its calibration may be caused by the ECU being bad, but might want to try and see if you can calibrate the system before buying a new ECU, as you will have to calibrate a new one as well.

no dash in numbers. What do you mean "production/transportation" ? Do you know where I might find recalibration instructions?
It is beginning to sound which came first. I checked into parts today and everything is 7 to 10 days away so would be nice to be just a little more sure I guess.
Code comes up as C1A00 then control module. If it helps any its a snap on modis scanner

These can be very tricky to calibrate, you have a +-3mm allowable offset, needs to be very precise measurements.

Did it try to calibrate, or not even let you enter numbers in?

Didn't come across places to enter numbers. Had a chat with a LR shop foreman and for the most part sounds like the scanner I had wouldn't have worked. Talked about what had happened etc. he feels that my trouble may also be need of calibration. Suggested bringing to them so they hook up to it. Against by own thoughts I think I will load it up and drop it off. I can hardly wait to see what all is wrong.
When I put in my new compressor I had asked if it needed a calibration at that time and was told no but now may have been incorrect. Funny if that cause a problem why it took 6 month to show.
