ZF 6HP26 transmission Solenoid replacement
I am having some Transmission issues with my 2007 LR3 with 150k miles. I get intermittent "F" faults in colder weather and difficulty shifting on steep hills. Basically, Engine racing when driving on steep hills - pushing the RPMs way high and not shifting. Normal operations on regular driving, grades that are not aggressive. So its not terrible, but needs to be fixed. I have had the transmission fluid changed 2x with the filter kit etc. Given the research that I have done, I am thinking the Solenoids need to changed out. My question to the forum is- how challenging is it to do this procedure? It would be in the driveway on my back with the LR3 up on Risers. I have a fluid transfer pump which will make adding fluid more easy. My concern, when watching videos, is the level of complexity and the cleanliness when replacing Solenoids & Seals. As for the parts list to purchase I have the Following
Has anyone with a modest level of home mechanic repairs successfully (or unsuccessfully) done this? What was your experience?
Thanks,

- Atlantic British Solenoid Valve Kit (ZF1068298044): Includes all 7 color-coded solenoids (3 yellow, 3 blue, 1 black).
- Mechatronic Sealing Kit: Must include the 4 tubular rubber seals, the figure-eight bridge seal, and the main electrical connector sleeve.
- Filter & Gasket (Metal Pan Specific): Standalone replacement filter element and flat rubber gasket designed strictly for the two-piece metal pan.
- Transmission Fluid: 6 to 7 liters of ZF Lifeguard 6 or Motorcraft Mercon SP.

First, check the fluid. This is as basic as going to the doctor and them always checking blood pressure.
Mercon SP or Liqui Moly Top Ten 1800 works
Sealing kit AB should have, but they are available anywhere. It is stupid common kit cause it is used on all sorts of ZF transmissions.
This is a time consuming project the first time, but it is incredibly straight forward and not at all challenging. The only area of concern is the harness, treat it gently.
