Default The 18” Tire Question

Just got my TuffAnts (44 offset) the other day and ready to buy some tires. Looking for 265/65 in All Terrain XL or E rated. Not too many choices. I’ve found a couple Cooper options and BF Goodrich of course.

I don’t want to modify the wheel wells or run rods at this time.

What 18” ATs are guys running?

Also, what’s the solution for the TPMS sensors (banding the original sensors?). I’m guessing I’ll have to buy a 5th sensor unless the current non-full size spare has one?

I'm not sure what the TPMS is - tyre pressure monitoring? Anyway, I have 18" wheels since 2015 on my 2014 HSE, and I now use BFG KO2s 265/65/18, which are more on road than on. They are a bit noisier than the factory tyres. They are claimed to have tough side walls which is good for Australia, we have lots of sharp rocks even on some major outback roads. Evidently that 65 profile gives a huge benefit in float on sand when the tyre pressures are let down 40%.

The main problem with them is that they do not fit in the under car tyre carrier. So I have a smaller tyre in there. I am going to remove the tyre carrier and put in a second diesel full tank, and put in probably a single swing out wheel carrier. I also carry a BFG KO2s 265/65/18 on the roof.
