So- I found a 1 owner, well maintained 2010 LR4 with 48k miles at a reputable (I know, I know) dealership. Picked it up tonight and after a couple miles I started smelling something electrical burning. Five more miles down the road and the most acrid, nauseating smoke belched out of the air ducts for about 15 seconds and the AC went out completely. Luckily, the dealership gave me a loaner and is taking it to Rover service for repair. Any ideas on what the hell happened?

 

Update: Fan blower burned up, now replaced. Perhaps I'll be able to drive it all the way home for the first time tomorrow!
