Default 2011 LR4 HSE - Catalytic Converter

I have confirmation that the right CC is bad on my 2011 LR4, and would have to replace and retest to know if the left is also bad. Has anyone had success with aftermarket CC's on an LR4? I'm told from non LR mechanic that LR's are very touchy and need to have OEM or CEL will still come on and I will have drivability issues. The parts would also be self supplied and there would be no warranty on the labor. But, for the risk, it is almost worth it for the cost to try aftermarket since I can warranty/return the parts if the CEL comes back on. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I’ve replaced the cats on LRs and Jags.
I have gone aftermarket where I purposely wanted a high flow solution (lower cell count). I tell you from experience that this is entirely possible BUT be prepared to put bungs in on the downstream O2 sensors. The MAFs need to be spotless. Ditto for the filters.
Seems ridiculous to some however it is all related and managed by the ecm.
Cheers.
