Default 2011 LR4 Immobilized after Alternator Failure

Had an alternator failure this week in my 2011 LR4. About 30 days ago I heard what I thought was a wine from the alternator and it turned out my gut feeling was correct. I was driving this week during a snow storm and out of nowhere I got the famous Charging System Fault. Within 2 min or less, all the electrical systems went down and the car finally died.

Connected to another car to jump it into neutral. Had it towed and replaced the alternator. Re-charged the battery and all systems are back up with full power. Now is where it gets crazy.

The car will lock and unlock. I can access all the features when i press the start button. But the car will not start.

I have a number of faults on the dash screen. "steering column locked" although the column is not actually locked.

My IIDTool will not reset the faults. Ive even tried flashing the ECU. Everything flashes as normal but nothing will reset and allow the vehicle to fire the starter.

Which ECU are you trying to clear faults from and which ECU did you try and reflash?

Are you sure you are up at full power. The LR4 gives lots of random faults when battery level is low. Can you connect it up to another (running) car and try and jump it again?
