2015 LR4 Stuck in Drive
I have a 2015 LR4 with 133K miles that is now stuck in drive. I turned it off thinking it would reset, but now it won't start. The **** is in the up position and i tried removing the cup holder and releasing the transmission with the emergency release lever, but nothing happened. Called the dealer and they said to move the key fob away from the vehicle for at least 20 minutes to let all the modules reset. That didn't work either.
Any suggestions?
My gut says this is should be handled by a dealer, not an indi shop that will have to research what is wrong. Thoughts?

Don't be too concerned by the no-start situation(yet). It is designed not to start in any gear except park and neutral. When you say nothing happened when you used the manual lever, do you mean it didn't go into N? If it did go into N, it still may not start because the gear selector is still reporting the "D" position to the ECM. Some cars will start when you manually put them in "N" and some don't, I don't know how the LR4 is designed. Without a scantool it is difficult to know what module(s) are unhappy.
