Default 2015 LR4 Transmission Fault

Hi all, Have enjoyed my 2015 LR4 until a few months ago when it started having dramatic issues beginning with no-rain flooding of the driver & passenger floor boards and a host of other issues since the dealership “fixed” that issue. That fix was immediately followed by a number of other issues including blown alternator until it seemed fine—excepting a blank GPS screen The latest is Transmission Fault . It was transported from FL to PA two weeks ago on a truck and friend recurved it and moved it a few yards to park it without incident.
( I had not arrived in PA) . A few dats later while just sitting, a tire went completely flat . When arrived and tried to move it in to driveway got the Transmission Fault signal in addition to the flat tire. Will not click into gear but will go into neutral. Before I go to a dealer here, anyone else with an LR4 have this issue? It had not been driven for 2 weeks and prior to that seemed fine. Oh, and key faub’s not working either! And have to say, I’m still smarting over all of the other issues the dealer in Fl diagnosed and “fixed”.

I take it from your message that when you start the car, the shifter dial pops up and you can turn it from park to neutral and back, and that park and neutral are both working. What happens when you pass through reverse or try to go to drive? The shifter moves to position, but the tranny just doesn’t engage?

One frequent problem on these cars is the brake pedal switch, located above the brake pedal in the area around the steering column. If that’s not registering applied brake, it won’t go into gear. Check to see that your brake lights are working when you press the pedal.

Another thing you might check - long shot - but under the cup holder, there should be a lever to put the car into neutral manually. I think haulers/tow drivers sometimes use this lever. You might check to make sure that’s secured back into position.

Otherwise, might need to get a scanner and look for codes.

Curious - what caused the “no-rain” flooding of the floorboards? AC condensation drains?

Thank you , @jlglr4! Yes, park & neutral work others light up on gear dial but don’t take. Will check all you mentioned in daylight . And as for rain free damage: leaks in suspension leading to knocks which was control arm knocking and both sunroof drains were backed up so that heavy rain did indeed cause flooding but days later in dry garage more “flooding “ due to additional runoff from epic but unknown clogs.
Back at it tomorrow.
