Default Car accelerates by its own

Hello, I am new here, it is nice meeting you.

I have an LR Disco 4, 3L TD, build year 2015. Over the last years I was very happy with it, just sent it recently for general check-up and maintenance, had the batterie changed as that light was on for some time, and all the regular check ups, oil-change etc.

The mechanic just finishes and goes for a test drive and suddenly standing at a junction, the car starts revs up to 8-9 K RPM just by itself. The following days the car did it again. I have read here in the forum that some people have experienced that with D3s. According my mechanic the external computer shows that a fuel injector is defaulting.

Has anybody had the same problem and if so, what was the remedy? Thank you all for your input.

Best regards

I just went through this on mine. On start up it would rev into the stratosphere. Turned out to be a cracked passenger side valve cover causing an air leak. Check engine light on with codes for Lean Bank 1 and Lean Bank 2 showing.
